The Question:
The above picture shows a person on a bicycle in a bike lane on a five-lane highway. An emergency vehicle is traveling southbound with its lights and sirens on. Is the person on the bicycle required to pull over to the side of the road and stop?
The Answer: YES
A person bicycling, as any other driver of a vehicle on the road, is required to pull over to the far right side of the roadway, clear of any intersection.
