In-Kind Donations and Gifts
An in-kind donation is one in which needed goods or services are given to a charity instead of giving money that can be used to purchase these goods or services. In-kind donations are a terrific way to support Idaho Smart Growth!
The three types of in-kind donations that we are current seeking are:
- Items and Supplies to be used for programs and daily operations
- Silent and Online Auction items for Fundraising
- Business Support Services
Our Current Wishlist:
Supplies
The goods that you can donate in-kind could be ones that will be used directly in Idaho Smart Growth programs or they may be used by our staff during day-to-day business operations. They can be donated by individuals or businesses.
- Office computers/laptops
- Webcams and microphones
- Vacuum
- Reams of white and colored copy paper
- Workspaces/desks
- Books for our Idaho Smart Growth Resource Library
- Gift Cards to purchase any of the above
Services
In-kind donations of services are pro-bono work that directly benefit Idaho Smart Growth. These are services we would normally have to pay for. People with skills that are directly beneficial to Idaho Smart Growth should consider donating their time and helping out. Ongoing services include:
- Graphic design: Help our work stand out visually with logo design, social media graphics, and publications like our annual report
- Audio & video production: Help capture the impact of our work across the state
- Website design: Help us improve our website to showcase our work and organization
- Marketing and Social Media: Help us get our message out, including social media content, press releases, etc
- Capacity Building Consulting: Help us identify opportunities to build out staffing, programming, board members, etc
- Accounting & financial assistance: Help us maintain an efficient budget and meet fiscal and governance requirements
Fundraising support
Contributing your time, network, and effort is a great way to help Idaho Smart Growth continue to operate effectively. Continued funding allows us to impact more communities. Anyone can make fundraising support an enjoyable way to ensure our work continues.
- Host a ‘Party with a Purpose’: Host a gathering at your home, workplace, or social venue to introduce your network to the great work of Idaho Smart Growth and share why you are a supporter.
- Fundraising assistance: Help us raise funds to increase our impact, including major gifts, grant writing, event hosting, etc
- Silent and Online Auction Items: These are in-kind donations that Idaho Smart Growth uses to auction off at a fundraising event to raise money for our programs. If they are goods, they will usually be in new condition and unique or perhaps collectible in some way. Gift baskets are always popular. Oftentimes fun experiences – such as tickets to a sporting event, a certificate for a wine tasting, a gift certificate to a nice restaurant, or even a vacation, hot air balloon ride or cruise – make wonderful auction items. Your suggestions are appreciated!
