Safe Routes Idaho

Safe Routes Idaho
Helping you from A to B, safe as can be!

THE GOAL
The goal of Safe Routes Idaho is to build communities that prioritize the safety, health, and choice of active transportation for all users.
THE PROGRAM
Safe Routes Idaho builds on the success of the national Safe Routes to School program. We encourage, educate, enforce, engineer, and evaluate the walking and biking situations in our communities, especially around our schools. The result is better health, less congestion and fewer conflict areas. Though our priority areas are around schools, support and programming is also available to support active transportation efforts around healthcare, aging in place, new parents, people with disabilities, recreation opportunities, and more.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Idaho Smart Growth encourages the development of safe active transportation infrastructure and education in communities of all sizes. Safe, well-connected communities that encourage walking and biking are a vital part of a happy and healthy life. Our efforts help neighborhoods and cities build capacity for Safe Routes programs, strengthen and encourage leaders to bring stakeholders together, optimize efforts to align with funding opportunities and planning efforts, and network with other communities to learn and celebrate together.
